January 3: Aubrey Plaza’s husband Jeff Baena died at the age of 47.

Baena died at his home in California, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records, who reportedly ruled his official cause of death was by suicide.

Miami-born Baena, who married The White Lotus star Plaza in 2021, was a successful screenwriter and director known for works including Life After Beth and The Little Hours.

Following his shock death, Plaza and his family shared a statement.

“This is an unimaginable tragedy,” it read.

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time.”
