Michelle Yeoh says she was overcome with memories of her own oscars win during a somewhat awkward onstage moment at this year’s awards.

Yeoh was on-stage alongside past Best Actress Oscar winners, including Jennifer LawrenceSally Field, Charlize Theron and Jessica Lange, and was given the honor of reading out the winner for the 2024 award.

As a visibly shocked Stone walked across the stage – her focus on her broken dress – Yeoh held onto Stone’s award.
Then, rather than hand Stone the statue, Yeoh guided her towards Lawrence. With Yeoh and Lawrence both holding the award, Lawrence handed the Oscar to Stone.
Lawrence and Stone, who are close friends, then embraced before Stone hugged Field.

Then and now: 2024 Oscar nominees when they were young
To some it appeared the Easy A The actress then acknowledged each of the other women on stage and not Yeoh.
However, she can be seen clutching for Yeoh’s hand in appreciation.
In a post-award show message, Yeoh cleared up any misunderstanding.
“Congratulations Emma!! I confused you, but I wanted to share that glorious moment of handing over Oscar to you together with your best friend Jennifer!!” Yeoh wrote,
“She reminded me of my Bae Jamie Lee Curtis, always there for each other.”
Yeoh took home the prize Best Actress Award at the 2023 Academy Awards,
