Australian comedians Tommy Dassalo and Karl Chandler are splitting up after 14 years collaborating on their popular The Little Dum Dum Club with Tommy & Karl podcast,
And according to statements shared to the former duo’s social media accounts, it doesn’t appear to be a clean break.
”I wanted to let you know that The Little Dum Dum Club has come to an end,” Dassalo wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in a lengthy missive shared this morning.

“I apologize that this clarity hasn’t come sooner and that the socials have been sending all kinds of mixed messages,” Dassalo’s statement continued.
“Over the past couple of weeks, our working relationship deteriorated to the point where a bunch of commitments were left unfulfilled. To get to this point was pretty disheartening for me, as someone who cares deeply about the quality and consistency of what they put out. .
“There’s no one person at fault here, but there’s also unfortunately no way forward. We can no longer work together, and the show was suffering as a result of that.”

Dassalo said that he has not stepped away from The Little Dum Dum Cluband that he had “always shown up regardless of how (he feels)”.
He did say, however, that he feels “as sad as it is” that “the time is right to bring the show to an end.”
“Unfortunately, the other half of the show doesn’t feel the same way, in spite of my trying to have a conversation about this,” Dassalo wrote.

Dassalo said that any future episodes of the podcast would be posted without his consent, and “all of the artwork and merch that I’ve designed for the show are now being used without my approval.”
“It’s a shame to have to end things like this, but to be fair… it’s not in any way unexpected,” he said, before thanking the show’s followers and previous guests.
”This is all terribly embarrassing to have all this played out so publicly, but what can you do,” Dassalo wrote.
Celebrity feuds: The co-stars who didn’t get along
Chandler, meanwhile, later took to Instagram with a notes app statement, shared alongside the caption, “New content very soon! Take care of your mental health out there!”
“Sorry for the drama! Bit much, don’t you reckon?”, Chandler’s message, shared on Wednesday, opened.
“It’s been very difficult lately,” his message continued. “Always been great on air, bit of a tough working relationship behind the scenes.”

“Obviously I’ve loved the show and I’ve put so much into it, and would’ve been nice to have a normal chat with a mate instead of having legalese thrust at me out of nowhere,” he claimed.
“Really strange stuff, honestly. Anyway, I don’t take myself too seriously. Let’s move on.”
Chandler promised he’d be releasing new content “very soon”, which would address “these incredibly strange times”.
He also shared a photo of himself to the podcast’s Instagram page, alongside the caption: ”Bit much! Sorry guys. A very similar strain of content will start next week. Promise not to take it too seriously. Episodes in the can already! Check in on a mate if you think he’s going overboard .”
