“Ben and I sent out the save-the-date invites and he’s like, “Babe, I’ve been getting these random messages, people keep asking me about the dress code,”‘ Hockley told her co-host Laura Byrne.

This happened several times despite Hockley saying the dress code is “pretty standard”.

Then her fiancé got a message from one of his female friends who queried one particular mandate where the confusion stemmed from…

“‘She was like, ‘How strict is it? What if it doesn’t go with my dress,'” Hockley recalled.

“And then she goes, ‘Well I don’t understand how she’s going to know if I wear it. Who in their right mind would make us wear and enforce no thongs’.”

The source of the confusion: a bit of a language barrier.

Earlier in the podcast Hockley explained that because her partner is Swiss, half of their wedding guest attendees are ffrom overseas.

This meant that her ‘no thongs’ rule got lost in translation: Some of the guests didn’t realize it was an Australian term for footwear.

“Ben calls me and he goes, ‘Babe half of the wedding thinks you’ve said they’re not allowed to wear G-strings. Strict enforcement.'”

The miscommunication had Byrne and Hockley in hysterics.

Hockley, who first rose to fame on the 2015 series of The Bachelor Australiaa, announced she was engaged to Siegrist on social media earlier this year.

“In any lifetime it’s a YES! Just two people loving each other for the rest of our lives,” she wrote on Instagramshowing off her gorgeous sparkly engagement ring.
