mariah carey has just gone through incredible heartbreak with the deaths of her mother Patricia and her sister Alison on the same day.

Now, the singer, 55, has just announced she’s returning back to work after “a couple of rough weeks”.

Underneath a video of herself singing, which was shared on Instagram with her millions of followers, Carey thanked fans for their “love and support” recently.

“Back at work,” she began in the caption while singing. it’s like that,

“It’s been a couple of rough weeks, but I appreciate everyone’s love and support so much and I can’t wait to see my fans in China & Brazil. Love you! ❤️❤️❤️.”

Carey is set to perform in China on the weekend, before heading to Brazil on September 20 and 22.

Carey previously confirmed the devastating news of her mother and sister’s deaths in a statement to People, calling it an “impossible time”.

“My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day,” Carey said about her mother Patricia and sister Alison.

“I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed.”

“I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time,” she added.

Carey previously wrote a dedication to her mother in her book.

“And to Pat, my mother, who, through it all, I do believe actually did the best she could,” she reportedly wrote.
