Real Housewives star Teddi Mellencamp has briefly spoke about her divorce on her podcast, Two Ts in a Pod with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge.
The reality star, 43, who is the daughter of singer John Mellencamp, revealed the reason why she announced that she was divorcing Edwin Arroyave.
Mellencamp had shared a statement on Instagram announcing the news after 13 years of marriage.

“I’m doing alright,” she said on her podcast as she addressed the shock news.
“And I just am trying, I don’t even know how to say this eloquently, but I am just trying my hardest to make sure that my kids’ privacy is protected right now and that we’re able to have all these conversations. “
Speaking about sharing the news with fans, she added: ”I just didn’t want it to blow up.”

“And for anybody that’s curious why I would have posted it, posted a statement, it’s because when your name is recognizable and you file in the court system, it becomes public.”
She added that she’s planning on ignoring any noise on social media and added: ”Yeah, and I know I am gonna keep working on feeling my best so that I can show up for the best for my kids and my life and my work.

“I mean, I think that’s the biggest thing for me right now.”
In her announcement post, she wrote: “After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce.”

“My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and well-being throughout this new chapter.”
She said she only made a public statement “in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors.”
“I have felt being open, honest, and vulnerable is the best path forward,” she said.
