During her three years hosting the show, its reunions, and Love Island: AftersunWhitmore was first in line to speak to the contestants about all things dating,

But there’s one topic of conversation Whitmore has shied away from: her own romance.

The Irish media star has been married to Love Island narrator Iain Stirling since 2020 and recently started the podcast Partners in Crime together.

Now in a new interview, Whitmore has explained why she’s “not in a place” to talk about her husband and their three-year-old daughter Stevie Ré.

“I will talk to my friends and family about them until the cows come home, but I’m not in a place to talk about it too much publicly,” she told Hello! Magazine,

“I can’t control the internet and once you give a little bit away, you can’t go back.”

The star then added how her time as a journalist impacted her decision to stay private.

“I think it also comes from interviewing so many people that might have given too much away. So, I’m probably a little over-cautious due to seeing other people being torn down,” Whitmore explained to the outlet.

“Talking about them feels like too much responsibility, maybe that will change – but at the moment, I just don’t feel comfortable with it.”

Whitmore starred on Love Island as a host until leaving the show in 2022.

Before joining the series in 2020, Whitmore had already been dating Stirling for three years, confirming their romance in August 2017.

After several years of dating the couple tied the knot in Dublin in 2020 and a year later welcomed their daughter Stevie Ré.

Whitmore celebrated her longtime partner on his birthday in January with a rare and very heartfelt social media message.

“This is 36! Happy Birthday @iaindoesjokes can’t imagine being on this adventure with anyone else x” she said on Instagram alongside some snaps of the pair.
