Leo Woodall is getting in on the action in his new TV series Prime Target,

The White Lotus and One Day star plays Ed Brooks, a mathematics post-graduate at Cambridge University who is at risk of being killed for the work he’s doing, which threatens to unravel cyber security.

However, the British heartthrob – who will next be seen on the big screen in Bridget Jones: Mad about the Boy – tells 9honey Celebrity he doesn’t think it will get him on the list of prospective next James Bonds.

“If he came knocking, then that would be obviously very exciting, but he won’t,” Woodall says in London.

“But yeah, I got involved in some of the action (but) a lot of it was just getting chased.

“I did get to jump over a car bonnet.

“My first attempt was unsuccessful, my second attempt was unsuccessful, my third attempt was successful, but I farted a little bit when I did it,” he said with a laugh.

Across the new eight-episode Apple TV series, Woodall’s character runs in and out of harm’s way with the help of NSA agent Taylah Sanders, played by Quintessa Swindell.

Swindell, 27, says they were jealous of Woodall’s stunts.

“I remember I was so upset that they let you jump over the car, I was so protective over the stunts, I was like, ‘I’m not jumping over cars!?’ I was so pissed,” Swindell reveals.

“It was the best stunt in the whole series,” Woodall cheekily fires back to his co-star.

Swindell “did a lot of boxing” and “a lot of Muay Thai” to prep for the role of Taylah but was in awe of Woodall’s athleticism.

“Side note, you ran down like the train. (It’s true) like, you were sprinting (It’s true) with backpack, blazer, there’s so much,” they tell their co-star.

Woodall joked that he had the harder action scenes to film.

“So many layers. And the rain coat, yeah, it takes a lot to run in a raincoat, I’ll have you know.”

Another thing that was tough for Woodall to master was the maths of it all, with his character scribbling plenty of equations across pieces of paper and white boards through the series as he tries to piece things together.

“I wish I could get away with just making them up,” he said.

“The maths that you see in the show is actually real maths, made by our consultant.

“And as much as I wanted to understand it and then recreate it on camera, probably, it was ambitious.

“So I just memorized it. That took a lot of work, though.”

Prime Target is streaming on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes available now, followed by a new episode each week.
